Bridge Project Engineer

Full-Time Strongsville, Ohio (Greater Cleveland area)

Our Strongsville office is seeking a Bridge Project Engineer with prior experience on ODOT-type design projects. This role provides structures support for transportation improvement projects in a collaborative team environment.

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university
  • Five or more years working under an experienced Bridge Design Engineer (PE)
  • Professional Engineer license in the State of Ohio
  • Experience using MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD, and AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Experience using bridge and structures design software
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft suite of office products
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities

  • Contribute as a team member designing a variety of bridge improvement projects across Ohio
  • Take responsibility for the technical aspects of small to medium-sized projects
  • Collaborate with colleagues on fieldwork, design calculations, plans, quantity estimates, and client submissions
  • Prepare preliminary and detailed design plans, quantity calculations, specifications, and construction cost estimates
  • Provide guidance to design engineers and technicians assigned to the project
  • Apply critical thinking when developing, assessing, selecting, and adjusting established engineering methods and procedures
  • Communicate with clients and subconsultants regarding active design projects
  • Periodically observe field construction and respond to requests for information during construction

  • Experience with bridge types including steel beams and girders, precast or prestressed concrete beams, concrete slabs and boxes, and prefabricated culvert shapes

Responsibilities

Survey Technician

Full-Time Strongsville, Ohio (Greater Cleveland area)

Our Strongsville office is seeking a Survey Technician to support the survey department with both field and office work.

Minimum requirements

  • Experience or training in land surveying or a related field
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to work outdoors in varied field and weather conditions
  • Willingness to adjust to a flexible work schedule that may include overtime
  • Good communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

Ideal qualifications

  • Knowledge of land-surveying and ground-control principles, techniques, and practices
  • Experience with conventional survey equipment, GPS, robotic total stations, and data collectors
  • Knowledge of technical software including AutoCAD and MicroStation with OpenRoads Designer

Under the direction of a registered land surveyor or crew chief, the role performs boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, and subdivision surveys. Office work includes creating CAD maps from field data and mapping existing utilities and underground infrastructure from existing plans.

Candidates who meet the minimum requirements can receive training and mentorship for the position.
