Euthenics was established in December 1969 as a joint venture of seven small Cleveland consulting engineering firms to pursue wastewater treatment and sewer plant projects in Cuyahoga County. In early 1972, Euthenics was retained to design two highway and bridge projects for the State of Ohio.
By 1976, the original arrangement of dividing work among shareholder firms was no longer practical, and Euthenics began performing all work in-house. In 1984, the original shareholders relinquished ownership and Euthenics became an independent engineering firm.
Initial work focused on highways, bridges, and sewer projects for government clients. Municipal consulting services were added in 1978, followed by private land development in 1987.
