HILLSIDE ROAD SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENTS AS-BUILT SURVEY AND CALCULATIONS

Euthenics was retained by the City of Independence to design a road widening with curbs and 6' wide sidewalks in the area of a new subdivision to provide connectivity and match a similar curb and sidewalk geometry on either end. The purpose is to encourage safe pedestrian traffic to and from the subdivision and the school campus. The design was complicated due to the rolling terrain, so driveways had to be extended and an 8' high Redi-Rock retaining wall constructed to best fit the new roadway section and slightly modified profile grade.
