Project overview

Scope & delivery

Euthenics provided engineering and surveying services to prepare final plans and right-of-way documents to replace the Independence Boulevard Bridge over Brandywine Creek (Big Creek) in Parma Heights, Ohio. A bridge type study was completed to determine the most economical replacement structure while also considering constructability, environmental, utility, and right-of-way impacts. A 62’ long simple span prestressed concrete box beam superstructure with a composite reinforced concrete deck and semi-integral abutments founded on drilled shafts was selected as the replacement structure. Euthenics worked with the City to secure a funding grant through ODOT’s Municipal Bridge Program. This grant provided funding for 95% of the construction and construction engineering cost. Final plans and specifications were completed in 2021 with construction in 2023.
