Project overview

Scope & delivery

Euthenics completed the Interstate 77 (I-77) Third Lane Widening Feasibility Study and Report for the section of freeway from Cleveland-Massillon Road on the south to the Summit/Cuyahoga County Line on the north for the Ohio Department of Transportation District 4 under a general engineering services contract. The I-77 Corridor spans 9.2 miles and encompasses 4 interchanges, 7 mainline bridges and 8 overhead bridges. The purpose of the study was to investigate improvements needed for the corridor with regard to traffic flow, horizontal and vertical geometry, safety, drainage, lighting, and structures. Environmental, right-of-way and utility impacts stemming from these improvements were then compiled into a report. Maintenance-of-traffic alternative analysis was also included. The corridor was broken into 3 buildable units and analyzed to see if part-width construction, crossovers, contra-flow or a hybrid of these options would be the best alternative to maintain traffic during construction.
